Kiva micro-financing: Jessica Jackey inspires Mesh 2009 attendees

The most inspiring presentation of day 1 at Mesh Confererence 2009 in Toronto was when Jessica Jackey took the stage to explain the origin of Kiva.org, a microlending site that connects people in developing nations who need funds to get a business started, with lenders in developed nations who lend their money without interest.

In just three short years, Kiva has blossomed into a $60 Million dollar a year financier of small business in the developing world.
